- Husqvarna Viking Designer I: Not recommended for serious embroidery. Embroidery field is limited to smaller designs. Motors can not handle heavy garments, and will slip out of alignment. Single needle means tedious thread changes for multicolor designs.
- Babylock BMP6 (Brother PR600) High end home machine. Almost as expensive as the Happy HCS-1201 Voyager. Smaller embroidery field (12 inches x 8 inches). Only 6 needles. Slightly slower, and not as rugged as the Happy HCS Voyager.
- Happy HCS-1201 Voyager This is a low end commercial machine. It is portable enough to take to trade shows. It does 1000 stitches per minute, has 12 needles, and has a maximum embroidery field of almost 12 x 12 inches. It includes a large color LCD display, making it easier to operate than the Toyota.
- Toyota Expert ESP9100 NET This machine is intended for commercial embroidery. It is faster (1200 stitches per minute), has a larger embroidery field, has more needles (15), and takes more accessories than the Happy HCS Voyager. But, it is actually more complex to operate.
